Book Tag | 20th Century Books

Hi guys,

Coming to you with another tag today. This one is the 20th Century Book Tag which was created by Wordsofareader

The basic idea of the challenge is you pick one book from your collection, for each decade of the 20th century. I'm hoping this will be pretty easy for me, because I own a lot of classics, and also in about 2 weeks I'll be starting a course on 20th Century Literature, so I have a bunch of books for that as well.

So here goes.

1900's

A Room With a View by E.M Forster | 1908

I haven't read this one yet, but I've seen two film adaptions and really enjoyed both of them, so I'm sure I'll like the book as well.

1910's

Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw | 1912

I really enjoyed this play. I read it a while back and I remember really enjoying it.

1920's

The Sound and The Fury by William Faulkner | 1929

Again I haven't read this one yet, but I hope to get to it soon.

1930's

Rebecca bu Daphne Du Maurier | 1938

Haven't read it, but my sister highly recommends it and I have to study it for Uni in the upcoming months, so I'll be getting to it soon.

1940's

I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith | 1948

This is one of my all time favorite books. I've read it multiple times. My sister and I loved it so much that the first copy we had actually fell apart. We now both have our own copies, and I'm feeling the urge to re-read it again soon.

1950's

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury | 1953

Another great book. I thought this book was great, it delved into a really well build world and I enjoyed it a lot.

1960's

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee | 1960

Another one of my all time favorite books. The characters in this are just so well developed. I loved the plot and it's the kind of book that you keep coming back to. Again it's one I want to re-read soon.

1970's

Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry by Mildred D. Taylor | 1976

I read this for my Children's Literature module at Uni, and I really liked it. It's a great look into the trials faced by a black family, in a time when racism was wide spread.

1980's

The Color Purple by Alice Walker | 1982

Touching, insightful book. I studied this one as well for one of my literature courses and I really enjoyed reading it.

1990's

Snow Falling on Cedars by David Guterson | 1994

This is another one that I haven't read yet, but again I hope to get round to it soon.

So there's everything from 1900-1990. I had trouble picking for most of these because I had quite a few books which could fit. The 70's were hard though for the opposite reason, I struggled to find anything I owned from that decade.
