January TBR & 2018 Reading Goal

Hi all,
For the longest time, I haven't created a TBR for the month, so with the new year starting, I wanted to try it out again. So, for January I created a TBR with the help of my little sister, so half of these were my picks and half were hers. I have five different category's and we both picked one book each for that category.

Classic

My pick: 12 Years a Slave by Solomon Northup.
My sister's pick: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.

Young Adult

My pick: Wayfarer by Alexander Bracken.
My sister's pick: It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini.

Adult Fiction / Non-Fiction

My pick: A Mighty Long Way: Carlotta Walls LaNier.
My sister's pick: Victoria by Daisy Goodwin.

E-Book

My pick: Scarlet by Marissa Meyer.
My sister's pick: After Anna by Alex Lake.

Netgalley

My pick: 147 Things by Jim Chapman.
Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart.

Beautiful Covers

Hi all,
I know they say 'don't judge a book by its cover' but that doesn't mean that we can't admire a beautiful cover, right?
Here's a little look at ten covers that I think are stunning. All of these are books that I've read, except the last two, which are on my 2018 Most Anticipated YA Books List.

Let me know in the comments what covers you love and please share and subscribe if you liked this post.

Most Anticipated YA Books of 2018

Hi all,
With the new year approaching it was time for me to start looking into what books I may be interested in, little did I know that I'd end up with over seventy books on my list so far and that's just going through the Young Adult and a few Historical fiction books.
I can't list all of them here, because that would be insane. So, I've broken it down to just the YA books and just the ones I'm most anticipating. There are a lot of releases from authors I already love and some from new authors for me.
If you want to check out all the books I've added to my 2018 releases list, you can see that here.

 Reading Stats
Hi Guys,
Can you believe 2016 is over already? It seems to have gone so fast, but here we are in a brand new year!
As always, I've compiled a list of my top ten books I read this year. I have to say it was a great year for me, my shortlist of books on Goodreads was 32 books long and it took me a while to narrow it down and put it in an order. I figured it out in the end, though, so here it is. My top ten books of 2016 and some reading stats too.
Let me know what you've been reading in 2016.

January 2016 | Wrap Up

Hi guys,
January is over, and it was a great start to my reading year. For 2016, I've set my Goodreads challenge at 100 books, and I made a nice dent in it. So here are the books that I read in January.

  1. Night Owls by Jean Bennett
  2. Suicide Notes From Beautiful Girls by Lynn Weingarten
  3. Extraordinary Means by Robyn Schneider
  4. Hello? by Lisa M. Weimer
  5. Becoming Famous by Natalie Scott
  6. Help Me! by Donna M. Zadunajsky
  7. The Best Night of Your (Pathetic) Life by Tara Altebrando
  8. Warning! When I am an Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple by Jenny Joseph
  9. You Have Seven Messages by Stewart Lewis
  10. My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga
  11. Room by Emma Donoghue
  12. The Distance from A to Z by Natalie Blitt
  13. Paperweight by Meg Haston
Of those 13 books, 5 of them made it onto my list of top books in 2016. So I have high hopes for this year. I don't know how many I'll get through in February, but I am still in a reading mood, so hopefully quite a lot.

New Year, New Books | Book Haul

Hi All,
I went just a little crazy with the buy now button on Amazon these past couple of days, but I figure since we're in a new year, I needed a few new books (I'm using the term need loosely here, since I have hundreds of unread books in my room and on my tablet).
So, I thought I'd start the year off with a quick haul, because I haven't done one in a really long time, and it's something I want to get back into, along with my end of month wrap ups.
These are the books that I've bought over the past week. Let me know what you've been buying recently, and which books your most excited to read in the new year.
